The winter weather will soon be upon us and to ensure we have a cosy home, we need to insulate against the cold and reduce drafts.
Windows are known to leak energy and it has been calculated that approximately 25% – 75% of heat is lost in this way.
Thomas Sanderson and Laura Ashley have announced the launch of a fabulous, new and unique collection of conservatory blinds.
As one of the UK’s leading producers of window blinds, Thomas Sanderson are always looking for new concepts, so a design collaboration with the very popular Laura Ashley brand is a great opportunity.
The outcome is an eye-catching and refined choice that will add a stimulating new look to any home:
The Fabric Box, are dreaming of sunnier times; of balmy summer evenings, sipping wine in the garden and warm days that last forever.
It’s hard to imagine a home interiors product that demonstrates this free and easy approach to summer living, more than the free-flowing Vertical blind from the new range by The Fabric Box featured here.
Vertical blinds can be pulled to one side to reveal a seamless transition of inside and outside spaces.

Venetian blinds give sleek style with ultimate control over light and glare; as the day goes on small adjustments enable maximum light and visibility.
Each system within the range offers different benefits: The Silent Gliss 8300, with either 16mm or 25mm slats in a choice of 77 different colours, is controlled with a single metal chain for raising/lowering of slats and tilting. A series of 8300 blinds can be fitted side by side with minimal light gap. Systems 8100 and 8110 have integrated control wands with brake for user friendly, precise opening and tilting. System 8100 has 16mm slats and can be positioned within narrow frames because of its small headrail. System 8110 has either 16mm or 25mm slats. Privacy feature is standard for the 25mm slats, allowing no direct light to penetrate when in the closed position. Both systems are available in 77 different colours. Silent Gliss also offer a cord operated system 8900 with 25mm or 50mm slats in real wood or 50mm aluminium slats, suitable for larger applications. The 8950 system is an electrically operated version, also available with real wood or aluminium slats. The Silent Gliss 8500 is motorised, offering quiet and smooth operation at your fingertips. Add a remote for flexible control over the system. Available with 16mm and 25 mm slats.
Most of the 77 colours are available in the 16 and 25 mm slats.
Thomas Sanderson a leading UK supplier of bespoke blinds and shutters has announced the launch of shaped shutters to their extensive collection.
This new addition to the Thomas Sanderson bespoke window shutters range, has been designed with beauty and function in mind: Unlike conventional shaped shutters where the louvres are fanned, Thomas Sanderson has developed a slat system where the louvers are all horizontal. By using a step technique and designing the shutters this way, Thomas Sanderson have been able to maintain the beauty and functionality of their traditional bespoke shutters. The shaped shutter is kept in place by magnets; a standard tilt wand operates the slats, so you can control the amount of light entering your room. With over 50 different painted finishes and colour match options available, you can compliment your existing interior without the need to redecorate.
Ian Bayne, PR Manager, commented on the launch, “With the launch of shaped shutters added to our already extensive range, we are now able to offer customers a solution for their entire window shading needs.”
We all love displaying photographs of our high days and holidays, nearest and dearest throughout our homes; coffee and dressing tables, window sills and mantle shelves, are all popular places to exhibit our pictures, but why limit your options?
A roller blind can provide a perfect blank canvas to shed a little light on your favourite subject:
Choose from a range of exciting designs online; – how about a roller blind printed with a food related image for the kitchen or dining room, a colourful, fun design for a child’s bedroom, or a scenic view for the living room or conservatory?
Thomas Sanderson has introduced TecNeat, an exclusive and innovative blind system especially for conservatories.
The new system allows the fabric to take centre stage, with the hardware discreetly hidden so that the visual impact comes only from the material to enhance the beauty of your room.
The arrangement is suitable for all shapes and sizes of conservatory and is especially ideal for the roof, where the sun’s rays can often seep through so that blinds are a must.
Luxaflex®, one of Europe’s leading window-covering brands, has announced the launch of their Japanese Design blinds; an exciting new collection of oriental style window blinds, made from a unique material called ‘washi’.

The colour of each segment within the blind can be selected individually, providing ultimate flexibility and choice.
