Well known for his role on BBC1’s High Street Dreams, Nick Munro is celebrated as one of Britain’s most original and innovative designers – and now he’s launching two new collections with Fired Earth.
The two new tile collections – Roman Mosaics and Welsh Mountain Slate are designed to be both beautiful and functional.
“I’m really excited about the new tile collections,” says Nick. “Welsh Slate is a great product. I love the Welsh mountains and I love the colours when the sun breaks through – the green meadows, crystal streams, blue skies – and, of course, the perfect blue-grey of the slate.

Following in the footsteps of the best fashion designers, Fired Earth is adding a diffusion line to its collections.

Bright and bold, tiles from the Collage range, take their inspiration from the Pop Art movement of the 1950s and 60s, when collage and painting were combined to construct new art forms that heralded the cultural transformation of Britain and America at the time.
Fired Earth is broadening its reach and appeal by adding a diffusion line to its collections.
This begins with the launch of Tile Basics this month, which will carry tiles starting from just 36p each.
Tile Basics is designed to complement the existing Fired Earth range and add some new bolder colours, which can be mixed and matched.

Fired Earth is widely acknowledged as the UK’s authority on tiles from around the world. The company’s carefully sourced ranges are both distinctive and timeless. But it’s worth noting that Fired Earth has a number of very affordable tile collections within its range- for example:
On The Wall
With clean, classic lines and an elegant structural style, the Architecture range can create versatile designs, with the clever use of different sizes in patterned combinations, or by mixing the gloss and matt finishes.
From 53p per tile.
The contemporary feel of the Retro Metro range, takes its influence from the 1920s. The rectangular shape and subtle colours of these tiles offer a real modernity and stylised finish to a room.
74p per tile.
In celebration of Fired Earth’s 25th anniversary, the company is launching a campaign to raise funds in support of the work of the National Trust.
The initiative – which began on May 1st will support the Trust’s work of protecting and opening to the public, more than 300 historic houses and gardens and 49 industrial monuments and mills, as well as the work it does in looking after natural features, archaeological remains, castles, nature reserves and villages – for ever and for everyone.
Fired Earth already has a relationship with the National Trust through its holiday cottage business and there is a real synergy in the outlook of both of these British organisations, with each placing great importance on the place of colour in our living environment and on environmental issues.
Gold taps are a token gesture by comparison. If you really want to wallow in luxury, go for a big tin tub. A pure Gold one! Well, pure Gold Leaf.
This magnificent piece takes bath-time to another level – when you sink into this to wash all your cares away, it’s more than probable, you can bask in the fact that you haven’t got any.
Worked from solid tin and available with a Gold Leaf exterior or, if you prefer something a little less ostentatious, Silver Leaf. Glorious!
Fired Earth’s new renaissance wall tiles are opulent, indulgent and unashamedly fashionable, a brilliant new modern Italian creation, in two precious metallic finishes; tarnished gold and silver, aged like old lira with a crackled glaze.
Absolutely perfect for that clean, unfettered, architectural look.
Price: From £2.26 each or £198.53m2.
