Piccolo Palazzo – A New Home Furnishings Enterprise

Piccolo Palazzo – A New Home Furnishings Enterprise A lifelong passion for home furnishings, has resulted in a Midlands mother and daughter team creating their own home interiors business.

Lisa Kennedy and her mother Mary Parker, based in Meriden, near Solihull, have created Piccolo Palazzo, (Italian for Little Palace), which specialises in providing stylish, upmarket products and furniture for the home as well as gift ideas.

Lisa, who holds an interior design qualification from the National Design Academy in Nottingham said: “We have been developing the idea for the business for some time and following my Mum’s retirement, and the overwhelming response from family and friends, we felt the time was right to take the plunge. We were also encouraged by the Government’s budget announcement, which supports entrepreneurship.”

Added Mary: “We want to offer a personal service which adds value to our customers. We know about the origins of our products and we can give advice on design and current trends; this level of service can be difficult to find in a large chain store.

We have established a range of excellent suppliers and can provide anything from a set of coasters to a large dresser!

“These are small beginnings for us, but we hope to provide our customers with a level of service that extends beyond a simple sale.

We also offer a range of gift ideas and hand-made cards for all occasions including weddings – all of which can be gift wrapped without charge.”

The duo have developed a website for their venture –- which will allow them to offer their services to a wider area.
