About Axminster
Thomas Whitty began making Axminster method carpets in 1755. This original Axminster carpet could be found in Chatsworth House and Brighton Pavilion and was also bought by King George III and Queen Charlotte, who visited the factory.
Today’s Axminster carpets are crafted in Britain using the original Axminster weaving process, mostly from natural fibres; they are renowned for their quality and for being strikingly beautiful.
Axminster Carpets are located in the beautiful Devon countryside, which has been their home since the very start.
