A Stone Bathtub Can Offer Therapeutic Benefits

A Stone Bathtub Can Offer Therapeutic Benefits The concept of Ganbanyoku (using the thermo therapeutic properties of stone) is coming to Britain.

For generations, the Japanese have appreciated the therapeutic benefits of hot stone.

Lying on heated stone is a treatment used all over Japan, as a method of cleansing and relaxing the body.

Now a more available version of the treatment is to be had in the form of a stone bathtub, which is now obtainable from stockist Boundary Bathrooms.

Jo Butterworth, marketing manager for Boundary Bathrooms, explains: “We regularly receive enquiries from people trying to recreate the luxury of a spa at home, and our new stone baths have been causing a real commotion.

”Unlike a normal fibreglass or cast iron bath, a stone bath absorbs and retains the heat of the bathwater for around an hour, so the body is heated by the surface of the stone, and by the water itself, creating a deep penetrating heat, which helps to promote a higher state of relaxation.

“These baths are made of highly polished stone to give them a silky smooth surface, which makes them very sensuous and they also contain natural minerals that are reputed to have other therapeutic benefits too.”

  • Featured here is The Pantheon Thinn Quarrian freestanding stone bath; the striking slipper shape of this freestanding bath, permits total relaxation and pure comfort and the Quarrian stone finish adds to the superior feel. Priced at £1731.06.
