Lin Utzon Adds Colour To Her Filigran Vases

Rosendahl’s Tanne Vase – Designed By Lin Utzon
Inspired by the gossamer lace curtains in Karen Blixen’s home Rungstedlund, Lin Utzon has created a pretty glass vase and votive with a matt silver motif.
The name Tanne is derived from the writer’s nickname, and the range combines simplicity and elegance – just as we would expect from Karen Blixen’s sure sense of style.
Rosendahl is the official sponsor of the Karen Blixen Museum and for every piece of Karen Blixen’s Christmas sold, a donation is made towards new exhibitions at the Rungstedlund museum.

‘If Pigs Could Fly’ From Herend Porcelain
The Herend Porcelain factory has created a delightful whimsical flying pig in a limited edition of 500.
In polite terms, the flying pig symbolises something that hasn’t got a hope in hell of happening.
The saying is traceable to a Scottish proverb from 1862 and was even quoted in Alice in Wonderland in circa 1865.

Royal Copenhagen’s New Heritage Vase Collection
Royal Copenhagen’s history inspired the new Heritage collection, consisting of four ornamental vases that can be used separately, or combined in an arrangement, in which both form and colour create a beautiful whole.
Hand-painted vases have played a prominent role in Royal Copenhagen’s product range ever since it was founded in 1775.
It took over a century to refine the technique that brought Royal Copenhagen the Grand Prix at the World Fair in Paris in 1900 and generated the international demand for Royal Danish vase art that continues to this day.

The gorgeous shapes and colours in the Confetti range have turned Lin Utzon’s hand-blown glass bowls, vases and votives into collector’s items.

In the new Confetti collection, the designer has toned down the bright colours and introduced some brand-new ones; including lime, white and transparent green in new combinations.

The saturation and clarity of these colours is tempered with a discreet, soft matt finish that doesn’t prevent the colours from working in their own right; they also put nature centre-stage when flowers and twigs are put in the vases.

Royal Copenhagen’s Jumping Frogs For Good Luck
Kiss the frog and receive good luck – but no promise of a handsome prince!
Throughout history, the frog has been the bearer of good luck, joy, happiness and change. Now four new frogs from Royal Copenhagen will continue this fine tradition.

Sculptor Allan Therkelsen, designed the 10 cm tall jumping frog and has given each frog its own special personality and characteristics:

 The golden frog is a symbol of good fortune and dreams; dreams of the awaken kind; the dreams of that special person who deserves to have all of them come true.

Chesney’s New Collection of Californian Firedogs
Chesney’s has introduced a unique and striking new collection of Californian firedogs: Santa Cruz (featured), Eureka, Ventura, Carmel and Monterey.
The traditional role of a firedog is to support and lift the fire basket and though functional it is also ornamental, which helps make the fireplace a focal point in the room.
Made in cast iron and patinated bronze, the Californian firedogs are a bold departure from the style and material of most English firedogs, which are usually very traditional and fashioned in 16th and 17th century style.
