A Cubist Concept For New Siemens Cooker Hood

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

A Cubist Concept For New Siemens Cooker HoodLeading kitchen appliance manufacturer, Siemens has added a new concept into its collection of designer extractor hoods with the ‘cube’.

The LC70450GB is a 40cm wide cube style cooker hood, finished in trendy stainless steel to match other Siemens built in appliances.

Designed to be wall mounted, the cube chimney offers a powerful extraction rate of 760 cubic metres per hour, with a minimum noise level of just 49 decibels.

It can be ducted or re-circulated according to requirements and can be combined in tandem with another cube hood, thus doubling the extraction and the visual impact.

The front mounted push button controls are easily accessible, as is the electronic digital display for 3-speed plus intensive operation; two 20W halogen lights underneath the hood efficiently illuminate the cooking area below.

Other notable features include, saturation indicators to let you know when the grease filter and/or carbon filter need replacing, plus a stainless steel filter screen.

To ensure that all the unwanted odours are removed after cooking, the cube hood incorporates an intensive setting, to boost the extraction level; the hood automatically reverts back to a lower speed setting after ten minutes.

The new cube hood is priced around £750.

A New Trend Setting Chimney Hood From Neff

Friday, November 3rd, 2006

Chimney Extractor Hood from NeffNeff the built in appliance brand leader is introducing a whole new concept in extractor hood design.

The extractor’s unique angled design makes it a real trendsetter, which could be the centre of attention for any new kitchen installation.

The angled design has two main benefits:

It ensures no inadvertent bumping of your head and it allows you to cook on the hob below, at much closer quarters.

Although this hood is particularly powerful in performance, it operates at an extremely low noise level of just 54 decibels.

The push buttons, which are within easy reach, operate the lights and the 3 power settings including an intensive one.

An automatic run on facility is featured on this efficient hood, to ensure that all lingering odours are removed even after completion of cooking.

This 90cm wide stainless steel chimney hood is designed for wall mounting and can either be ducted out, or re circulated.

The Neff D99W5 retails at around £750.

Gaggenau Ventilation Table

Sunday, November 13th, 2005

Gaggenau ventilation table

A cooker hood, an extractor hood, call it what you like - but it’s an essential piece of equipment to keep your house free of cooking smells and your kitchen free of grease.

The problem is - if you’ve decided to have your hob on an island, you could be out of luck. Cooker hoods and islands just don’t mix that well. It’s often very difficult to fit a cooker hood above an island - and just about impossible to make it look good.

Fortunately, Gaggenau have come up with a solution to the problem with their ventilation table. The ventilation table is designed to be installed on the island worktop, and in recirculation mode it offers low noise and efficiency at extracting unwanted cooking smells.

The Gaggenau AT 400 ventilation table costs from £2,500. It will be available exclusively from Gaggenau studios from January 2006.
