Pilkington ActivTM In Windows Is More Eco-Friendly
Recent studies have shown that installing a self-cleaning glass, such as Pilkington ActivTM, in windows and conservatories is ten times more environmentally friendly than using regular glass.
Independent research compiled by BRE (Building Research Establishment) demonstrates that the self-cleaning properties of Pilkington ActivTM, offer a number of environmental benefits by reducing quantity of resources, including water, energy and cleaning agents, required for cleaning through the year and throughout the life of the windows.
The study looked at two vital issues:
1. Water Savings By installing Pilkington ActivTM self-cleaning glass, the average detached property can expect to save approximately 260 litres of water per year, because of its reduced need for regular window cleaning; once a year to remove dirt associated with Pilkington ActivTM , compared to traditional window cleaning frequency of once a month.

Louis Poulsen Lighting now offers its Collage home lighting design in two new colours, vivid Lemon Yellow and Juicy Orange.
The colours are vigorous and bright, stirring a reminiscence of spring and summer and suited to a wide range of interiors, where designers are looking to use colours to convey excitement and energy.

Louise Campbell found inspiration in nature, when she created Collage arising from the image of the sun’s rays finding their way through tree foliage, leaving a shimmering trace of light and shadow.
Collage met with an especially positive reception in the market when it was launched, in Snow White, Hotlips (pink), Heavenly Blue, Spring Green and Smoke Screen.

The product is available in the new colours as both pendant and floor variants; the shades are made from laser-cut acrylic and the suspension from naturally anodised aluminium.

Except for Snow White, the coloured Collage fixtures are hand-mixed, so they are only produced in small lots and only available to order, which means delivery times will be longer than usual. The fixtures have their own unique identity numbers and come with a 4-metre cable.

The coloured Collage pendants retail at £795.00 – white £670.00.
The floor standing one retails at £865.00 and £765.00 respectively.
