London Homebuilding & Renovating Show 2006
If you’re thinking of converting, extending, renovating or building your house from scratch, the London Homebuilding and Renovating Show at Excel in September is a must to help you find just the right products and services.
The show will take place over three days (22nd – 24th September 2006) and features a comprehensive programme of free seminars, covering such subjects as finding the finance for your project, maximising your living space, selecting an architect and energy efficiency.
There will be lots of opportunity to find your perfect building plot, with a number of land agencies, such as Plotfinder and Plotsearch having a presence at the show.

RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park
There’ll be more than 600 exhibitors at the RHS Tatton Park Flower Show in July – the show will cover more than 29 acres!
Gardeners have grown to love the Tatton Park flower show for its relaxed ambience, some of its features being original back-to-back small gardens and exciting show gardens that indulge a wide cross-section of tastes, budgets and planting preferences.
The back-to-back small gardens displays are a unique part of the Tatton Park Show. There will be more than 25 such gardens, allowing designers to demonstrate their creativity and planting skills on a realistic sized garden.

Hampton Court Palace Flower Show
The next Royal Horticultural Society flower show is at Hampton Court Palace in London from the 4th to the 9th July 2006.
This is the world’s largest annual flower show – it is a “must see” for anyone who is interested in gardening.
There are two new categories at the Hampton Court Palace Flower Show this year – Conceptual Gardens where you can see the work of new garden designers, and Inspiring Spaces where garden centres will demonstrate creative ways to enliven awkward spaces in the garden.

Crocus Garden Wins at Chelsea Flower Show
Crocus, the gardening website which specialises in plant sales, has just won “Best in Show” with their Tom Stuart Smith / Daily Telegraph garden at the Chelsea Flower Show.
They provided all the plants for the garden created by top designer Tom Stuart Smith.
Enclosed on two sides by alternating sections of hornbeam hedge and rusty steel wall, Tom’s garden was a design of contrasts. The garden featured a narrow rill that was partially hidden by naturalistic planting while two staggered groups of Viburnum rhytidophyllum framed views into the garden and provided height.

BBC Gardener’s World Live
The BBC Gardener’s World Live Show on the 14th-18th June promises to be an exciting event for anyone interested in gardening.
The organisers are calling it “the gardening show created for gardeners by gardeners”.
In association with The Royal Horticultural Society, the show will feature stunning plants (many new varieties), show gardens by Britain’s top designers, and lots of top TV celebrity entertainment.

The Chelsea Flower Show
This month it’s the World-famous Chelsea Flower Show, run by the Royal Horticultural Society, and sponsored by SAGA Insurance.
This year the show will have a global feel, with French, American, Japanese, Lebanese, African and Antipodean gardens on display.
The Great Pavilion will have leading exhibitors from all over the world to add to the international atmosphere. Some floral displays will even feature plants that have been transported from Mauritius and Grenada!

Thomas Sanderson at Chelsea Flower Show
Thomas Sanderson, the conservatory blind and garden awning manufacturer are sponsoring the Scenic Blue garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, with a garden called “Anna’s Sanctuary in the Shade”.
Scenic Blue are the UK’s largest garden design and build company, and they have designed this garden as a stylish, shady outdoor room allowing you to escape the stresses of daily life.
With the threat of the worst drought for 100 years this summer, the garden has a flower shaped structure as its centerpiece, which collects and funnels rainwater down to the roots of the surrounding plants, making it an inventive eco-friendly and energy efficient concept.

The Home Show at Excel
If you’re looking for modern inspiration for your home this weekend, you could pop along to London’s Excel to visit the debut of a new home interest show called “The Home Show”.
It is being run by the Sunday Times and IPC Media – the Sunday Times is one of Britain’s biggest selling newspapers, and IPC Media are responsible for 6 of the most popular home magazines – Homes & Gardens, Living Etc, Ideal Home, Country Homes & Interiors, 25 Beautiful Homes and 25 Beautiful Kitchens.
As well as an extensive range of inspirational home exhibits, there will be design clinics where you can benefit from the advice and experience of the experts, and there will be many opportunities to shop to your heart’s content!

Trellis Bird Habitat at Ideal Home Show
Here is another ingenious concept product from the Concept Products Awards Scheme at the Ideal Home Show – The Trellis Tower by Jonny Wray, age 22, from Buckinghamshire Chilterns University.
The Trellis Tower is a sparrow habitat designed to attract more sparrows into urban gardens by providing safe and protected nesting boxes.
It is a wall-mounted tower which creates a community for the birds, providing shelter in the multiple bird boxes.

Concept Furniture at Ideal Home Show
Each year, the Daily Mail Ideal Home Show supports and promotes new, young British design talent by showcasing innovative designs for the home and garden.
This year there are 20 new designers competing in the Concept Products Awards Scheme. All entries are being displayed in the Concept Living Area at the Show.
Visitors are asked to vote for their favourite product, and the award of £2000 will be presented to the winning designer on Wednesday 22nd March.
