Police Chiefs are making every effort to refrain from having officers attend call outs that are considered to be less urgent cases, such as telephone harassment calls.
Those who receive such calls on a regular basis, could argue that they are as urgent as any other. However, there are now advances in technology, which can put a stop to nuisance calls of every nature, without the need for police intervention.
Better procurement is highlighted as a key way to save police funding; using new inventions that save precious police time is vital in surviving the impending cuts.

Security Specialist Yale Launches ‘Yale Security TV’
Yale has added a new section to its website, offering ‘how to videos’ that show consumers how easy it is to replace or update their home security products.
Available on their website, Yale SecurityTV features informative and educational videos on a range of Yale products: Including how to change a Yale euro-profile cylinder, and how to install a Yale replacement PVCu handle. Videos showing how to replace a Yale nightlatch and how to upgrade to a British Standard rim cylinder will be coming soon. The videos form part of a new campaign that will see Yale products promoted to security conscious homeowners over the next few months.

From September, online shoppers will be able to rent a Shopbox, have it installed and ready to accept delivery of any online purchases when not at home.
Consumers will no longer have to stay in and wait for their grocery shopping, or be forced to pay for peak time evening or weekend slots, as the Shopbox will receive the goods whilst they are out, storing them securely and at the correct temperature, until they return home.

Review Of The Swann ADW 300 Security Camera
I was pleased to accept Swann’s offer to trial their new ADW 300 digital wireless security camera and receiver. See our article dated October 25th 2009.
The camera was delivered on the day promised and the camera and other contents were securely packed and well protected. The camera, stand and all components were strong, smart and clearly of quality manufacture.
I found the operating instructions very clear with lots of illustrations to help understanding and enable a quick and easy set up of both the camera and receiver.
