Using colour in the kitchen is a fine art, which is skilfully demonstrated by Smallbone of Devizes.
Smallbone was the first company to introduce hand painted bespoke kitchens and now, more than 30 years later, Smallbone’s decorative artists offer a choice of literally any colour from the 20 million the human eye can detect!
Charlie Smallbone comments, “We are seeing an increase in the use of strong, bold colours and the need to coordinate the same colours, textures and materials, has been replaced with a more eclectic approach, which is perfect for today’s multi-functional kitchen.â€
The Smallbone ‘Mandarin’ kitchen shown here, uses three different shades of plummy pink to create a complete environment of vibrant colour.
Â
To ensure the kitchen could take an abundance of dramatic colour, the owners replaced the original flat roof with a vaulted glass ceiling that floods the kitchen with light; pale worktops, floors and walls also complement the colourful units.
