The Ringwold Papers from Farrow & Ball

Saturday, June 24th, 2006

The Ringwold Papers from Farrow & BallThis sophisticated wallpaper, called “The Ringwold Papers”, from Farrow & Ball, is based on an early eighteenth century silk pattern by James Leman.

Originally designed as a woven textile for couture dresses and elaborate gentlemen’s waistcoats, this sprig and berry design has elegant winding branches and two tone variegated leaves.

Traditionally, Farrow & Ball create the depth of colour in their products only achieved through the combination of traditional printing methods and their finest water based paints, as opposed to modern printers inks. This wallpaper is no different - it is available in all five of the Farrow & Ball paint colour families and is offered on both complementary and related tonal grounds.

“The Ringwold Papers” wallpaper costs £47.99 per 10m roll.

Colour Trends for 2006 from Farrow & Ball

Cupboard and Shelves in Farrow and Ball Clunch Oil Eggshell Paint

Martin Ephson, Director of specialist paint manufacturers Farrow & Ball has been speaking about the trends in paint and wallpaper that he predicts will be fashionable in 2006:

For spring and summer ‘06 we will see the return of yellows, fine shades like ‘Dayroom Yellow’ and ‘Hound Lemon’ rather than the ever popular but strong ‘Sudbury Yellow’. Also pink, but again, fine colours such as ‘Pink Ground’. ‘Calamine’ and ‘Setting Plaster’. Witness a big return to grey whites, in particular ‘Clunch’, ‘Slipper Satin’ and ‘Off-White’.

Large pattern repeat papers in dramatic colourways will find their way from ‘accent’ walls into small spaces such as guest loos. These will have a spectacular dramatic effect. Also exquisitely printed, simple one and two colour papers in the popular paint and high fashion colours mentioned above. Look out too for metallics which can be found in F&B’s ‘Vermicelli’ papers.

Pictured is a cupboard and shelves painted in ‘Clunch’ oil eggshell paint - a low sheen, low odour eggshell finish, perfect for interior woodwork where a low sheen finish is preferred.

Anza Round Paint Brushes

Saturday, November 5th, 2005

Round Paint Brushes from Anza

If you think a paint brush is just a paint brush, it’s time to think again - Anza have just launched a new range of paint brushes with several features that make them unique:

Unlike most domestic paint brushes, these are round, like an artist’s brush. The round brushes are especially suited to shaped profiles and edging work, such as skirting, banisters and pipes - as they follow the profile being painted, rather than splitting like a flat brush.

Anza claim that the long bristles allow the brush to hold 25% more paint per dip in the can - which should result in faster decorating.

Painting has to stop occasionally, if only for coffee - and you’ll see from the photo that each brush includes an integral brush rest - so you can hang the brushes from the tin, or stand them on a flat surface. They also boast soft-feel ergonomic handles for those long decorating sessions.

With several sizes of paint brushes to choose from, as well as brushes designed for woodstain, varnish and even for painting masonry - painting & decorating might be about to get easier.

Anza’s marketing slogan is “Decorating Made Easy” - if you want to find out if it’s true, the new Anza round paint brushes are available exclusively at B&Q.
