After almost a lifetime working with iron, marble and bronze, Danish artist Jens-Flemming Sorensen has turned his attention to porcelain, with a new collection of bowls and dishes for Royal Copenhagen.
“I wanted to produce a collection that bore a sculptural stamp, but the most important thing was to create art that could be used in everyday life” said Sorensen.
Royal Copenhagen Globes are indeed works of art with a practical function: – The bowls are ideal for seasonal flowers, or can be used for chocolates or sweets. The dishes could be used for fresh berries, or even caviar.
There are Globe pieces in a range of sizes and designs. Prices range from £20.50 for a small bowl to £1,224 for one of the larger, limited edition pieces.
