If you visit Thomas Goode, the famous china, glass and silverware shop in the heart of Mayfair, between the 30th May and 1st July, you will be able to see this magnificent figurine of the Princess and the Pea.
It will be the centrepiece of a beautiful table set with the famous Royal Copenhagen Flora Danica porcelain service.
The figurine is from Royal Copenhagen and is made to a design created in 1911 by Gerhard Henning – it is in fact a bonbonniere. The Princess and the Pea is, of course, taken from the fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen.
The intricate painting on the figurine takes up to nine months to complete and has to be fired four to six times. The figurine is made of 5 pieces and is a fine example of the talents of the craftsmen at Royal Copenhagen.
The Princess and the Pea figurine retails at £149,000
