The Herend Porcelain Victory Vase produced for the Hungarian Formula 1 Grand Prix evokes the art and artistry of the Herend Manufactory and was a fitting prize for the winner, British Formula 1 Driver Jenson Button.
The ornamental vase is Neoclassical in style and has gilded handles pierced like lace, with the mark of the Herend Porcelain Manufactory on the neck.
One of Budapest’s best-known scenes The Chain Bridge arching over the Danube with the Royal Palace of Buda Castle behind, is painted on the front of the vase.
The scene is framed with victory wreaths and the surface of the vase is covered in gilded decoration. Floral motifs from a traditional Herend pattern known as Batthyány are scattered across the back
The Herend Team Trophy Wall Plate was also produced by the artists and craftsmen of Herend for presentation to the winning team of Honda.
The plate, which is 52 cm in diameter, also depicts a landscape of the Chain Bridge and the Royal Palace of Buda Castle.
