{"id":1610,"date":"2009-11-18T14:00:04","date_gmt":"2009-11-18T14:00:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.ukhomeideas.co.uk\/ideas\/other\/shows-and-events\/habitat-launches-the-%e2%80%98this-is-my-habitat%e2%80%99-competition"},"modified":"2016-10-16T18:48:24","modified_gmt":"2016-10-16T18:48:24","slug":"habitat-launches-the-this-is-my-habitat-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.ukhomeideas.co.uk\/ideas\/other\/shows-and-events\/habitat-launches-the-this-is-my-habitat-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"Habitat Launches The \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.ukhomeideas.co.uk\/images\/habitat\/habitat-logo.jpg\" alt=\"Habitat Launches The \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 Competition \" class=\"right\" \/>Habitat has launched the \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 competition, by inviting people across the UK to dig out their cameras and share with them\u00c2\u00a0 &#8211; What Makes Their House A Home.<\/p>\n<p>Helena Christensen, who fronts Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 campaign, will judge the competition, which is intended to give enthusiasts of design and interiors, a platform to share with others their own style, and show the Great British public what inspires them.<\/p>\n<p>With almost two thirds (62%) of Brits feeling that their home urgently needs a revamp, but unsure where to start, now\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s the perfect time to share sources of inspiration.<br \/>\nAnyone can enter, whether you are a budding interior designer, have a unique living space, or simply feel house-proud.<\/p>\n<p>All entrants need to do is upload a photograph of themselves, in a room which best represents their sense of style and eye for interiors, accompanied by a short explanation, of what makes that space so special at www.thisismyhabitat.co.uk.<\/p>\n<p>Habitat research recently found that one in five homeowners, trawl through \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcfriends\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 pictures on social networking sites, hoping to find design inspiration for themselves.<br \/>\nThe public will vote for their favourite home via the campaign website, before Helena and the panel of judges decide on the winner.<\/p>\n<p>Helena, who has shared her own unique style and design philosophy throughout the campaign, will be looking for a photo, which reflects and celebrates the entrant&#8217;s home, individuality and style.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The overall winner will become the next face of Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s \u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 campaign.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>The prize includes a photo shoot in London, an overnight stay at a 5* star London hotel, plus \u00c2\u00a31,000 worth of Habitat vouchers.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>\u00e2\u20ac\u02dcthis is my Habitat\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 aims to inspire everyone from the independent thinkers, to the creatively curious and those who just don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know where to start.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>A selection of photographs will be exhibited in Habitat stores across the country in 2010, as well as online at www.thisismyhabitat.co.uk, until the winner is announced in February.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>There will also be \u00c2\u00a3100 Habitat vouchers available for 34 runners up, one from each Habitat store in the UK.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The competition closing date is 31st January 2010 and is open to UK residents aged 18 and over.
