The First Scottish Annual Birdfair

The first annual Scottish Birdfair, will take place at Hopetoun House, Edinburgh on 19th-20th May 2012.

The Scottish Birdfair has something for everyone – from the most dedicated birders, to garden birdwatchers and those with a more general interest in wildlife.

There’s going to be plenty to keep you and your family entertained for the whole weekend at the Scottish Birdfair, whether you want to gain knowledge of Scotland’s birds and wildlife, or just soak up the environment, while taking a leisurely walk around the beautiful grounds of Hopetoun House.

The Scottish Birdfair is an RSPB charity fundraising event supporting Scottish Birds.

Special events
Watch out for the special events at the Birdfair, from seabird cruises (£18/£13) in the Firth of Forth, to dawn chorus walks (£5/£3) ; why not register your interest to avoid disappointment?

Who is coming
An exciting range of exhibitors will be there, to offer you an exclusive opportunity to shop for all things nature, from optics to art, as well as celebrity talks, special events, and workshops.

Hopetoun House is one of the finest stately homes in the UK and presents a spectacular venue for the Scottish Birdfair, with abundance of wildlife and history, and within easy reach of the central belt, visitors can enjoy the woodland walks and magnificent views along and over the Firth of Forth. Or why not take a tour of the house?

Kid’s Corner (under-16’s go free!) – Crafts, games, face painting and pony rides, solve a wildlife crime, try your first bird survey, plus children’s wildlife photography classes.

Opening times
Saturday 9am-5.30pm (food, bar and entertainment until 10pm).
Sunday 9am-5.30pm.

Adult £12 (concessions £10)
2-day ticket £20 (concessions £18)
Parking is FREE and there’s an hourly shuttle bus from Linlithgow and Dalmeny train stations.
