Smallbone is updating one of its most popular kitchen designs – the Original Handpainted Kitchen, has had every element refined to give it a new modern edge.
The key features of the new Handpainted Kitchen include, sophisticated combinations of natural materials, shapes, colours and textures:
- Pale European oak is decorated with luminous metallic and granite, making a wonderful contrast to the handpainted elements.
- Masterly convex and concave curves are put adjacent to new squarer edges and sharper cornice outlines, while centre panels feature a ‘wave’ textured finish.
- Every element of the updated Handpainted Kitchen is handmade to order, planned around the space available and the owners’ preferences.
Main Features
The kitchen pictured here, is positioned in a round room, demonstrating Smallbone’s amazing capability to produce furniture with curved fronts and backs.
The extraordinary convex central island combines a drop-level dining area with a large preparation space.
Features set within the polished Midnight Blue granite include a steel lined trough for an indoor herb garden and the curved stainless steel sink.
Purpose-fitted drawers and cupboards are internally lit and operate on a power assisted opening system. The whole island ‘floats’ on a mirror finished plinth.
The Smallbone hanging rack keeps utensils within easy reach and matches the circular island below. Made from oak and polished stainless steel, the rack incorporates hanging rails, shelf storage and adjustable worktop lighting.
The main cooking zone is produced by an elongated run of concave front cabinets, incorporating a state of the art Miele hob, oven and extractor.
The New Handpainted Kitchen is now on display in the Smallbone flagship showroom at 220 Brompton Road, Knightsbridge, London SW3 2BB.
