Wilman’s New Ocean Collection of Contemporary Fabrics

Tuesday, September 8th, 2009

Wilman’s New Ocean Collection of Contemporary FabricsTaking inspiration from delicate coral reef patterns, flowing waves and rippling sand dunes, Ocean is the beautiful new collection of contemporary fabrics from Wilman Interiors.

With lightweight qualities, a gentle sheen and soothing colour options, the collection is designed to bring harmony into the home, through the calming effects of the sea.

Ocean captures the ever-changing moods of the sea, with captivating organic designs and shimmering, light-reflecting yarns; the illusionist trend of adding interest through texture, also gives the collection hidden depths.
Sculptured and moulded ruffles, tucks and pleats offer an intriguing dimension and additional tactile appeal:

The collection comprises six stunning, organic designs, in a colour palette ranging from bold and beautiful to calm and serene:

  • Soft pearls, golds and silver greys are reminiscent of the seascape at dawn, whilst high contrast burnt orange with blacks and linens, evoke the drama of the sun setting on the horizon.
  • Sharp pinks and amethysts with warm sand bring the colours of the reef into the home, whilst warm coral with taupe, captures the liveable shades of shells and pebbles.
  • Soft greens with cream is a tranquil colour option with a fresh, breezy feel.

Says Wilman Interiors design manager, Michelle Todd: “The Ocean theme is all about bringing the outside in and connecting with nature. By creating a calming, relaxed environment, we can bring harmony in to the home.”

All fabrics in the Ocean collection cost £30.00 per metre RRP. Available through a wide range of retailers nationwide.

Spring Signals A Change Of Window Dressing

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Spring Signals Change Of Window Dressing With Silent GlissOnce spring is on its way, we can’t wait to open the windows and let in the fresh air; and as well as the usual spring cleaning it is a perfect time to change your window dressing.

Put away the heavy drapes for winter and take full advantage of the sunny days to come with a lighter, brighter window treatment.

The Silent Gliss Panel Glide system is ideal; its versatile design means that the panels can easily be removed for cleaning, changed for the seasons, or replaced to co-ordinate, if you change the décor of the room.

Its channelled profile fixes discreetly to the ceiling, suspending fabric from Velcro carriers; so all you have to do is detach one set and attach another.

A vast array of fabrics and materials can be used with the system as Silent Gliss offers many textiles in various textures, colours and patterns.

Choose between flat and folding panels (Panel Glide and Panel Fold); the Panel Glide system can be controlled manually by hand or cord, or operated electrically.

Since the systems look as attractive from the back as from the front, they can also be used as visual room dividers, (ceiling fixing recommended).

Catwalk Stripes - A Sharp New Look For Interiors

Monday, July 14th, 2008

Catwalk Stripes - A Sharp New Look For InteriorsStripes were a key trend in the spring/summer ’08 catwalk collections, with leading fashion houses Chanel and Anna Sui using them to make a bold statement.

From bold monotone bands to colourful summery “deckchair” stripes - and even wavy tiger stripes, incorporating the other hot fashion trend for animal prints, there is a look to suit all moods and settings.

By cleverly combining sharp lines, complimentary patterns and trend colours, you can use stripes to give your interiors a fresh new look and create a look that is both fashionable and enduring.

To help you to select the right look for your home, Wilman Interiors’ design manager, Michelle Todd offers some tips on how to make the most of the stripes trend:

  • Bright colours cut through with narrow black bands can look fantastic on curtains and accessories, to add drama to an otherwise neutral room.
Subtle dots can also be combined with stripes to add interest.
  • Wilman Interiors’ Tempo collection in Cameo, includes a burnt orange woven fabric with thin black stripes and understated dots – ideal for dressing a feature window.
  • Mock animal print stripes and monochrome bands can create a really glamorous look.
The Poeme collection in Granite pictured here, features broad black bands, stylish wavy stripes and warm neutral backgrounds.
  • Multi-coloured stripes can have a summery “deckchair” feel – why not upholster an armchair in bright stripes, to create a stunning focal point for your living room?
